Lily's Dress Up's!

First off a BIG thanks goes to Daphne, (Lily's cousin) who has always been so willing to dress Lily up in some of her own super cute and fun play dresses which I'm sure sparked Lily's love for dressing up and helped me realize I needed to do something about it :) Another BIG thanks goes to NONA! Lily's grandma and my super awesome mother who helped me sew not one but three great dresses for Lily all in a matter of three days! Lily was only given two of the three dresses at Christmas because the third has been held back for her 3rd birthday in July :) So stay tuned to see that last one, which I think is my favorite :) N-e-ways Lily has really enjoyed the dresses, she asks to wear one of them at least once a week if not more :) So enjoy the pictures below and a video of Lily's latest dance moves :)

A twist on Cinderella's ball gown!

Caleb really likes this blue dress. If Lily sits down while wearing it he'll either try and sit on it or...

he'll try and take it ;) I think its the feel of the fabric that he likes (silky)

January in a Nut Shell

So January was a busy one for our family and since I'm behind, as usual, on my blogging I have decided to just make a sum it up post rather then do multiple posts on the month. So lets get started!

First off Eric had his 26th Birthday on the 3rd. His birthday celebration was not anything special since he was sick this year.  We had a nice quiet family dinner with just us two and the kids, and since he had been sick I didn't bother making him a cake but by the time "dessert time" arrived he was feeling more up to some sweets so we ran to McDonald's and picked up cones for everyone.  Stuck a candle in Eric's and sang to him before his melted :) I know, how lame can I get?

Lily and Eric making weird faces :)

The 4th was Our Anniversary.

Eric and I have now been married a grand total of 4 years!! Eric is a wonderful husband, and a super great father to our two kids.  The longer I'm married to him the more I see just how blessed I am to have him.  He is one cool dude ;) and I love him to pieces!  We spent out anniversary apart cause my gift to Eric was to let him go hunting for a few days before school started back up, unfortunately he didn't get anything, maybe next year.

On the 12th we celebrated Caleb's 1st birthday!  The Arthur & Sharee gang were kind enough to come help us celebrate.  We had a nice dinner and for dessert, cake and ice cream (so I was a little more on top of things for his birthday).  We didn't do presents because he's 1 and he just got everything he needed at Christmas.  So the money we would have spent and that he received as gifts from grandparents went to his Mission/College fund.  It doesn't seem possible that he's already been with us for a whole year, he sure is growing up fast and I guess these birthdays are good reminders for me to enjoy my kids now cause time isn't going to slow down.

Some random tid bits about Caleb are as follows...

He is a happy kid, unless he is teething or being crushed by his twice his size sister (Lily keeps trying to wrestle the poor boy)
Just like his sister he loves to cuddle and gives hugs on a regular basis (what can I say I've been blessed with little huggers).
He loves bread, and hates all veggies :(
He has been walking since after Christmas
He loves the trash can and all of its nasty contents
He enjoys going outside and stuffing as many rocks as he can into his mouth
He's a tease, and his main target is Lily (his teasing includes pulling hair, grabbing her snacks while she's watching cartoons, and running off with her most beloved blanket - laughing as he is doing this) It should be interesting, these next few year, to watch their relationship develop :)

We love Caleb and are so glad he is a part of our family!!

And last but not least our Las Vegas trip took place on the 21st.  The party included all of my married sisters and three of the husbands (Eric being one of them).  It was a quick trip, which was alright with me since I don't particularly like Vegas. But Celine Dion who was the whole reason why we went, was awesome.  She has a wonderful voice and great stage presence.

For many of us it was our very first limo ride!

Boy was it windy there, which in a way was a blessing cause it made it too windy to see a lot of the trash/filth people were trying to hand you as you were walking down the strip.

This "Dragon Face" pose is a bit fuzzy but I'd say Mel and I are a little scarier in this one Sharee, what do your kids think :)

A big thanks to all the hubbies who planned and worked hard to get this trip to happen! And a huge thank you to Arthur who watched Lily and Caleb for us, your the BEST!!

Christmas at Tahoe

This year we celebrated Christmas with my family up at my grandparents cabin in Tahoe. It was a lot of fun despite the fact that most of us came down with a nasty 24 hour bug.  Good thing there was a washer and dryer up there ;) Well since it was the first time we were ALL together since Reed had come home from his mission we took a family picture.  Unfortunately not ALL of us were smiling....and one of those grumpy little faces was our lovely little Lily. Out of all the best shots, for everyone else, Lily was consistently NOT smiling.  Oh well at least she's in the picture right? I have also included our Christmas morning pictures, Lily again is not smiling in any of them (we'll blame her foul mood on the nasty bug).

This was Caleb's very first Christmas!

Okay I guess Lily is sorta smiling in this one :)

Jacob, Emma and Reed! Love you guys!

Most of the gang, the other half is behind me or to the side ;)

We finally got Caleb some boy toys (match box cars!)

Nona helped make Lily's dress ups and though Lily looks totally not excited or happy I promise that this girls loves her dress up's so thanks mom for your help!

Caleb and cousin Carter (they were sitting like this for at least 5 minutes supper cute).

The married sisters got a present from their hubbies this year...tickets to see Celine Dion live in Las Vegas!

The family photos, and with a grumpy Lily in every shot :)

It was good to be with all of you this Christmas we love you!!!

Ginger Bread House

This last year Sharee was able to fly out to California  and sing the soprano solos in the Messiah performance that our Dad was in charge of directing. Arthur went along for moral support and to help strengthen the bass section :) Daphne had been invited by Aunt Jenny to come out and stay for a week to do a bit of home schooling with her cousin Jemma, so she flew out as well and since Sydney flew free she went too.  Their 3 boys were lucky enough to be entrusted into the care of their awesome Aunt Jewels and Uncle Eric for a few days.  During that time we feed them good food like pizza and ice cream, and helped them to unlock their inner creative side by building a ginger bread house! Are we awesome or what? So thanks Sharee for bringing over that ginger bread house kit the kids had fun making it :) and yes we did have pizza and ice cream but I promise I fed your boys other good things...healthy things :) Enjoy the pics.!

Here's a picture of the finished product with all of its creators :) and then...

It was time to eat it!!

So I sampled a bit and thought it was pretty nasty. But despite it being break your teeth hard and sickening sweet, the kiddos appeared to enjoy it.

Hyden and Lily, those two are silly.
