Two weeks later I had time so I made Caleb his shirt and still had a lot of dye leftover but chose to toss it this time. Unfortunately, my pregnant brain is hard at work against me and I simply put the bottles of dye in a small trash bag on the back patio (which is kind of where I stock pile small amounts of trash before it makes it to the big garbage can).
Later that afternoon I sent the kids outside to play so that I could get a few things done in the house without being interrupted. Eric came home from work early and asked where the kiddos were and I said "playing outside." A few minutes later Eric says "they're too quite I'm gonna go check on them." Not long after that I hear Eric telling me to come outside...not a good sign. I go out, not sure what to expect and I'm greeted by this....
Oh why did I not just throw the blasted leftover dye away?!?! I blame it on being pregnant, I'm not kidding I'm really not the brightest when expecting, super sad but true. It was a good thing Eric was there to help with the clean up or I probably wouldn't have been able to laugh about it or take pictures. Lily was not as messy, which leads me to believe that she probably was more interested in "helping" Caleb get painted rather then painting herself :) What a great older sister.
On the bright side of things, at least they made the mess outside where it was far easier to clean up, sadly their clothes had to be thrown away (I owe you a new boys outfit Sharee as the one Caleb was wearing belonged to you and you were kind enough to loan us some boy clothes). We were also house bound for a few days after the incident because despite lots of scrubbing and long baths they both looked like they were victims of abuse. Oh the joys of parenthood!
These two are TROUBLE!!
...Cute but trouble
