What's in The Heating Pipe?
So Sunday night Eric and I heard some scratching noises coming from our furnace room and when we went to investigate it, the noise stopped. Well the next day I kept hearing the same mysterious scratching noise so I went to the furnace room again and finally figured out that the scratching was coming from inside the black heater pipe. I thought for sure it was a rat or a mouse...and with the weather getting colder here I thought we'd better get whatever it was, out of there before we needed to use our heater. Now I don't know about everyone else but I'm not particularly fond of the smell of decaying flesh and personally prefer a homier smell that Yankee candles give off so I called up the Landlord and he came around Wednesday and took care of the problem. Well it ended up being a bird and the poor thing died in the pipe before we could release it back into the wild.

Oh, what a tragic end for the little bird. " I suppose it was a rather romantic ending . . . for a mouse. " or bird. (name the movie.) I guess it's good you guys found it before it started ruining the yankee candle smell.
Oh my gosh!!! I have totally had that happen before! But my sister and I were home alone and we thought something was going to get out of it and eat us! No joke. We shut the door to the room and wouldn't use it for the life of us. But at lass..the same tragic ending! :-( How sad!
That's so sad! I'm glad you got it out before you had to deal with rotting flesh...I too prefer yankee candles!
