Sandia National Forest

Eric had a few days off in between rotations this last week so we decided to head out into nature and do a little hiking with the kids. I am pleased to announce that our kids were great! Lily hiked the whole hour without once being asked to be held and this little hike was rather steep with lots of wicked, killer cactus along the trail. Caleb did well when he was allow to hike on his own, but for the most part Eric carried him in the back pack we borrowed from Sharee because he gave us too many scares with his poor balance ;). We had packed a lunch and ate that while we were out there and then let the kiddos explore for a bit before heading home, which was only a 20 minute drive. It's nice to have such beauty to explore so close to home!

Gotta have a crazy shot right? Right.

These are the bad boys I spoke of earlier, they were all along the sides of the trail and Lily was very good at pointing them out and warning us not to touch them :)

Lily's silly face, she really likes to stretch her mouth out like this and I'm pretty sure she learned it from her cousin Hyden.

Caleb was rewarded a walk for good behavior.

Just having fun and exploring after eating lunch.
